The Department of Civil Litigation of the Ministry of Justice functions include:
i) Provision of legal representation in civil matters affecting the State Government, Extra Ministerial Department and Agencies.
ii) Provision of legal of advice and opinion to the Ministries, Department and Agencies of the State Government.
iii) Initiation of court action to assert public right.
iv) Representation of Government’s interest in crucial meetings likely to affect government policy.
v) Participates in Alternative Dispute Resolution matters and Arbitration to protect the interest of Government.
vi) And on any other matters assigned to the Department by the Hon. Attorney General and the Solicitor-General.
