Conspiracy and Armed robbery :Jigawa High Court Sentences Man to 7 years imprisonment.
Jigawa State High Court of Justice sitting at Hadejia, Presided over by Honourable Justice Ado Yusuf Birnin Kudu has on 22nd October 2021 convicted one Ali Idi (who conspired with one Gando now at large) for the offences of Conspiracy and Armed robbery contrary to section 97 and 298 (b) of the Penal Code Law of Jigawa State.
The fact of the case was that, on 30th July 2018 at Kiri Kasamma Local Government Area of Jigawa State, Ali Idi conspired with Gando (at large) and attacked the shop of one Bala Muhd with local gun, cutlass and stick and took away food items. The defendant pleaded not guilty for the offences and in proving the alleagtions, the prosecution called 4 witnesses and tendered some exhibits.
Delivering the judgment, Honourable Justice Ado Yusuf Birnin Kudu stated that the prosecution had proved their case beyond reasonable doubt, thereby found the defendant guilty of the offences and sentenced him to 3 years imprisonment for conspiracy and 4 years imprisonment for armed robbery and the sentences are to run concurrently.
