The facts of the cases were that the defendants have differently alleged to have raped two girls (names withheld) in the cases. The court found that the testimonies of the prosecution witnesses were contradictory and the extra judicial statements of the defendants recorded by the police lacked credibility as such the prosecution had failed to prove their cases beyond reasonable doubt.
In another development, on the same 29th November, 2021, High Court No 7 sitting at Birnin Kudu presided over by Hon Justice Musa Ubale in the case of State v Yusuf Safiyanu Charge No: JDU/356C/2020 had discharged and acquitted one Yusuf Safiyanu alleged to have had carnal knowledge of a boy (names withheld).
