Umar Ja’afar was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2005 after obtaining his LL.B from Bayero University Kano (BUK) in the year 2003.
Ja’afar before joining the Service of Jigawa State was a Legislative Aide in the National Assembly of Nigeria from the year 2003-2007.
He joined the service of Jigawa State Government in the year 2008 as a Company Secretary/Legal Adviser, of Jigawa State Agricultural Supply Company (JASCO) before he was transferred to Ministry of Justice Jigawa State in November, 2015 as an Assistant Chief State Counsel and arose to the rank of Chief State Counsel.
Mr Ja’afar is skilled in prosecution and drafting.
